The Tombs of the Kings is probably the most well known of the sites having many fine mosaics of which the most spectacular and largest were excavated  in the House of Dionysos – the God of wine. The catacombs of Ayia Solomoni are brought to ones attention by a tree bearing pieces of material tied to the branches – it is said that anyone who fastens a piece of their clothing to the branches of the tree is cured of chronic illness. Nearby is the Odeion of Paphos and is today used as it was originally intended to be as an outdoor arena for summer concerts and drama performances.
